PRECISION LOADED HUNTING AMMUNITION
"TRUSTED FOR THE HUNT OF A LIFETIME"
2008
I have been custom loading superior, precision ammunition since 1988 for discriminating hunters who realize that the success of their entire hunt, whether it be a once in a lifetime Marco Polo sheep hunt, an African safari for Lord Derby Eland, or a local outing for deer, depends upon the performance of their ammunition. If your ammunition does not perform perfectly, and you fail to take your game cleanly, then all of the time and money you have invested will have been wasted. All things considered, your ammunition, while being the single most important part of your entire hunt, can be the least expensive single item even when using the best precision loaded ammunition available.
ADVANTAGES: I load all ammunition utilizing only the finest premium components available under the strictest quality control measures. I use techniques that are normally reserved for the assembly of bench rest grade target ammunition, techniques that a factory cannot use as they must be performed individually by hand. My ammunition is more accurate because it is more uniformly loaded than factory ammo. This is due to the fact that I weigh each and every individual powder charge, a process that the factories cannot do. I also seat each primer by hand to the proper depth after checking the uniformity of the primer pocket and deburring the primer flash hole. This process ensures consistent ignition of the powder charge, and greatly increases the accuracy potential of the ammunition.
I also offer additional services such as reduced loads for the larger magnum calibers for practice prior to a big hunt , or for use on smaller game. I also offer a larger range of bullet weights and styles for many calibers as this can increase the usefulness of a rifle. All ammunition is packaged in 20 or 50 round foam lined plastic cases that are approved for airline travel.
DOUBLE RIFLE AMMUNITION: All double rifles are regulated during manufacture to group with one specific type of ammunition. With older rifles, it is not always possible to obtain the same type or brand of ammunition with which the rifle was regulated. On many of the newer double rifles recently produced, the ammunition used for regulation has changed over the past few years. Different bullets and load data have been introduced, thereby complicating the sighting in process on many of the newer doubles. In many cases, the ammunition used for regulation, is no longer available from the manufacturer.
My solution to this problem is to offer my clients the option of regulating the ammunition to their rifles. This is a fairly simple, and inexpensive alternative to having their double rifles re-regulated by the manufacturer, or having to buy box after box of expensive ammunition in an attempt to find a load that will shoot well in their specific rifle. This procedure can be accomplished with whichever brand and type of bullet you choose for use in your rifle. Once the correct load is found, we have the option of "fine tuning" in order to achieve the best possible accuracy.
WHY USE BARNES BULLETS? Quite simply they are the best hunting bullets available at any price - period. No other expanding bullet can match the Barnes X-bullet design in terminal performance on game animals of all sizes. The pure copper homogenous construction makes it almost indestructible. You just cannot blow it up even at the highest velocities. The unique expansion cavity ensures perfect expansion causing four sharp edged petals to peel back against the shank of the bullet upon impact. These petals, rotating at very high R.P.M.’s cause, an incredible amount of tissue damage, and allow the X-bullet to out penetrate every other expanding bullet currently available.
Each of the 25 plus Professional Hunters that I have exposed to the X-bullet agree that it is the most devastating expanding bullet they have ever seen. In fact, these men now personally use and encourage their clients to use X-bullets for all thin skinned game, and Cape Buffalo when the Barnes Banded Solid is not called for. X-bullets normally retain 95%+ of their original weight, and I have many that retained a full 100% of the original weight. Keep in mind that these bullets were recovered from game, and not from test media in a laboratory.
The Barnes Banded Solid is recommended for thick skinned game such as Elephant, Rhino and Hippo. This homogenous, non-expanding bullet is made from a pure bronze alloy and is designed to provide optimum penetration from all angles on thick skinned and heavy boned dangerous game animals. Most of the Banded Solids we recover could be loaded again as the only marks on them are those imparted by the rifling of the barrels they were fired from.
The Banded Super Solid incorporates all of the features of the original Super Solid along with a redesigned flat meplat for maximum energy transfer, and driving bands as found on the Triple Shock and M. R. X. bullets. This bullet promises to be even more devastating on all thick skinned dangerous game.
Please go to the recommended products page to see complete information on the Barnes MRX, TSX, XLC and Solid bullets.
When the X-bullet or Super Solid is not available for a certain caliber, such as for some of the larger British Nitro Express calibers, I will utilize soft point or solids produced by Woodleigh of Australia, as these bullets are manufactured to duplicate the original Kynoch bullets that were designed for these calibers. These bullets are of extremely high quality, and allow for easy regulating of older double rifles.
If requested, I can load any other type or brand of bullet: Nosler, Swift, Trophy Bonded, Hawk, etc. Please contact me for a price quote, and minimum order requirements.
Please note that due to the rapidly increasing costs of all of the quality components utilized in my custom ammunition I have been forced to increase prices. I apologize for the increase, however it was unavoidable due to the escalating costs of all metals.
